EXAMPLES OF WORK WITH IMAGINARY THEATRE

I SEE YOU

A performance for children aged 2-5 and their adults. Together, We feel the cold and place footsteps in the snow. We run through raindrops and sail across memories. We bustle and balance as highways unravel. And then, I see you. I See You is a touching early-years theatre experience where sounds, images and sensations transform the mundane into dreamlike worlds - worlds where our stories connect and liberate us. A collaboration between artists from Australia and Korea, this bilingual and interactive performance will inspire play, warm the heart, and set the imagination alight. The play factory

Little Artists at Play is a creative play workshop series for children aged 0-5 years and their parents and carers. Bring your kids along to take part in multi-art experiences led by internationally acclaimed artists from Imaginary Theatre. Each week the host-artist will collaborate with the group on unique and engaging activities. From theatre and visual art to dance, music and digital media, there will be something to inspire everyone. From October 2015, our first host-artist is Nathan Stoneham, a multidisciplainary artist who uses theatre, music and conversations to create rich shared experiences. In The Play Factory, things need to be sorted, moved across the space, placed inside other things and passed from one person to another. Wheels need to be turned, things need to be packaged and instructions, rules and reasons need to be made up. There is work to be done and things to design and test. There is no plan and no boss. This factory is what we make it. This is a factory that needs not produce anything except opportunities for tasks, interactions and play. Every Tuesday morning, 9am - 12pm Turbine Platform - Brisbane Powerhouse imaginarytheatre.org brisbanepowerhouse.org

Imaginary broke the rules of audience and players. They reached out to the kids, wrapped them up in a story and pulled them in to play...The show was a beautiful tale of building friendship, explored with minimal dialogue and lots of fun, physical storytelling...Magic
